The first Gymnaestrada 2007 in Dornbirn was an outstanding success for the participants, organisers and the Province of
Vorarlberg! This gave us the courage to make another application for the World Gymnaestrada 2019.
The decision from the World Gymnastics Federation FIG was unanimously in favour of Dornbirn and Andre Geissbühler, FIG‘s General Secretary justified the decision by saying “the real spirit of the Gymnaestrada lies in Vorarlberg!”
Rich in experience and a new chance
Thanks to the success of 2007, we can draw on a wealth of experience and count on the positive support from the Vorarlberg population. This gives us a safety net but at the same time ample and fascinating scope to fi nd new ideas and incorporate them. The World Gymnaestrada 2019 should not be a copy of its predecessor but to use the bonus of 2007 and to improve it.
